This course focuses on the fundamentals of hand-building with clay for non-School of Visual Studies majors. Students learn the technical processes involved in forming and firing within the context of historical and contemporary ceramics. In addition to making, students engage in research as well as learn how to discuss artwork through the critique process. Expendable materials fee. Prerequisites: Restricted to NON-SVS majors only. Recommended: ARTGE_VS 1040.

Only one of this type of Humanities and/or Fine Arts courses may be applied towards meeting the Humanities and/or Fine Arts General Education Distribution of Content requirement.
