An introduction to the major myths of ancient Greece and Rome and their impact on Western culture. Students will explore stories of gods, heroes, and mythical creatures, examining how these tales expressed ancient values and helped explain the world. The course also considers how classical mythology has been re-imagined in art, literature, and film across time. Topics include creation myths, heroic journeys, divine conflicts, and the enduring power of myth in shaping cultural identity. Prerequisites: Honors eligibility required.
