Greece: From the Bronze Age to the Byzantine Empire – Honors

This immersive learning experience will include an on-campus portion of learning as well as traveling to Greece to study the intersections among ancient, Byzantine, and modern Greece. The on-campus portion will cover the basics of Greek history and Greek mythology. During the overseas itinerary, you will visit and learn about major archaeological sites and museums on the Greek mainland (the Acropolis of Athens, Eleusis, Delphi, Olympia, Sparta, Epidauros, and Mycenae) and on the Greek islands Mykonos and Delos. Application is required. Freshmen are welcome to apply. The study abroad portion of this course is supported by MU’s International Center. Graded on A-F basis only. Prerequisites: Honors eligibility required. Recommended: AMS 1060.
