Introduction to the history of art, including a survey of major historical eras and global contexts, prominent works of art, and methods of analysis; exploration of influences between the arts of different cultures and societies and attention to the roles of gender, religion, ethnicity, and politics in the creation of these works; and discussion of how inequities among groups are reflected in what has been preserved, collected, and included in the field of art history.
