This is course provides a bridge between beginning and advanced painting. Student work will build on the structured assignments in the beginning course (ART_VS 2500) to the more self-directed work expected in advanced art courses. Students will develop skills and critical thinking around how to make paintings that are visually dynamic yet also conceptually interesting and innovative. This course begins the process of creating a cohesive project in painting and a body of work as a professional artist. May be repeated to 9 hours maximum. Prerequisites: ART_VS 2500.
Only one of this type of Humanities and/or Fine Arts courses may be applied towards meeting the Humanities and/or Fine Arts General Education Distribution of Content requirement.
