An interdisciplinary introduction to the basic concepts and literature in the disciplines covered by Black Studies. The role of historical, political, social, and economic forces in shaping cultural expression will be stressed. This course prepares students at all levels with a good foundation for advancement in Black Studies but also with a useful set of guidelines for further achievement in the humanities, behavioral and the social sciences. Prerequisites: Honors eligibility required.
