Introduction to the principles, theories, and professions of communication. Students will examine and apply models of human communication; the roles of symbolism, context and culture in communication; connections between communication and human perception and self-concept; and perspectives for understanding and improving communication in interpersonal relationships, small groups, organizations, public persuasion, and media. Students may receive credit for COMMUN 2500 or COMMUN 3050/COMMUN 3050W, but not both.
