Exploration of meanings and practices of diversity and inclusion in organizational life, particularly with regard to social and cultural identities such as race and ethnicity, gender and sexual identity, disability, religious and personal values. The course includes the study of stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination, and ethnocentrism as they relate to intercultural workplace relationships and communication. Students will develop communication skills that can help them provide leadership around diversity and inclusion issues in the workplace, work more effectively in diverse work environments, and make workplaces more welcoming and inclusive for everyone. Graded on A-F basis only. Prerequisites: Junior standing. May be restricted to Communication majors only during early registration.
