Focus on social scientific research concerning the mass media and social media in the lives of children and adolescents. The course centers on media effects literature and controversies relevant to child and adolescent media users. Course involves readings, lectures, discussions of theories, concepts, methods, and findings. We will also consider social implication and personal choices in media use. Graded on A-F basis only. Prerequisites: junior standing required.
