Environment and Empire in Russia and Eurasia

(same as RUSS 4880). Explores major themes in the nature-society relationships that have shaped Russia and Eurasia over time. Interactive mapping activities are paired with close readings of Russian and Eurasian literature to interpret regional cultures and environments in historical and political context. Students complete a capstone project based on original research.
