(same as AMS 3025). Philosophical thought on nature, knowledge, the gods, human life and society, from Thales to Augustine. Emphasis on Plato and Aristotle. The relevance of the ancients to contemporary life. Prerequisites: Sophomore standing. May be restricted to Majors during early registration. Recommended: One course in Philosophy.
