Gender and Human Rights in Cross Cultural Perspective

This course focuses on the global discourse on human rights and gender, emphasizing cross-cultural theories. Course includes the meaning of rights, Western and non-western perspectives, feminist contributions, important substantive debates, violations, policymaking and activism. Prerequisites: WGST 1120 or SOCIOL 2200; senior standing required.
