Course examines the social aspects of mental health and illness. Topics include: stress and mental health, medicalization of behavior, stigma and labeling, mental health care systems, social correlates of mental health (such as gender, childhood, work status, and social support). Recommended: 1000 level sociology course or 1000 level Psychology course.
