(cross-leveled with THEATR 7290). This course introduces students to topics related to theatre and performance in the context of virtual reality. Students learn about developments in the history, theory, and critical analysis of this topic, and study significant writers, artists, and theorists who have contributed to the field. Students learn about principles related to performance and virtual reality such as dramatic structure, immersion, agency, transformation, acting, audience, and design. Projects provide opportunities for experiences in virtual reality and performance. Recommended: THEATR 4280.
