This course introduces students to the concepts related to of digital humanities and the arts, with an emphasis on literature, visual art, music, theatre, dance, performance art, and film. Students learn about developments in the history, theory, and critical analysis of this topic, and study significant writers, artists, and theorists who have contributed to the field. Digital humanities methodologies are utilized as a way to understand subjects such as the development of computers and the Internet, the impact of technology on social practices, and the development of the arts in relation to evolving computer technologies. Students develop skills used in the practice of digital scholarship and creative work. Recommended: THEATR 4280.
