This course examines LGBTQ+ history, queer theory, and activism through the lens of film and visual representation, exploring topics like queer aesthetics, the gaze, and the politics of visibility. From the Hays Code to New Queer Cinema, students will analyze how queer and trans characters have been portrayed and the cultural impact of these representations. Graded on A-F basis only.
