This is an introductory course; a companion to Biology of Animal Production I. The overall intent of the courses is to provide an introduction to modern livestock production systems with emphasis on fundamental biological principles and their application in management of production animals. Key disciplines include genetics, nutrition, reproduction, physiology, health and behavior. The laboratory section of the course will provide hands on experience with livestock. Only 1 credit may be earned if taken after AN_SCI 1174. Graded on A-F basis only. Prerequisites: This course is restricted to Animal Sciences students or requires consent. Honors eligibility required.
