This course is designed to emphasize the important roles our lawns play in our environment, and to help students learn hands-on skills for managing residential lawns with minimal impact to our environment. Statistics show that homeowners spent more money on a per acreage basis than superintendents who manage golf courses. Most of the money homeowners spent are unnecessary, and sometimes jeopardize the safety of our environment. Today’s students will likely become homeowners in the future, and it is critical for every citizen to be mindful regarding how their lawncare practices could impact our environment.
