(same as Political Science [POL_SC] 4640). A general comparative course focusing on post-independent Africa. Theories and concepts related to decolonization, nationalism, democratization, and ethnicity; also institutional forms and organizations: political parties, parliaments, and executives. Prerequisite: Political Science [POL SC] 1100 and junior standing.
